What did I enjoy most about coaching BSA basketball? It was one of the more rewarding things I’ve done in years. Each week you could see the kids getting better and gaining confidence. I was reluctant and hesitant to get involved because of time commitments but quickly learned that it was a mistake to only attend the games and that getting more involved made a big difference to my daughter and paid me back a lot more than it cost me in time. - BSA U10 Basketball Coach
The following are just some of the volunteer positions available. Many of the volunteer options differ from season-to-season. If there is something you would like to do which is not on this list let us know!
Coach - Take the lead in coaching one of our teams!
Assistant Coach - Help support the primary coach for the team at practices and games or fill in for the Coach if he/she can't be at a practice or game.
Referee - Officiate games for your son or daughter's league.
Board Member or Sports Program Director - As a highly mobile community, the BSA's leadership volunteers move on to other assignments outside of Belgium. These positions include board members (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and also our Sports Program Directors (Soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Lacrosse).
